Android 3.0 Gaming PSP Plus Smartphone: By Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson is actively working on a gaming Google mobile platform by developing a brand new gaming platform, ecosystem, and device (possibly alongside Google) which are already in the late stages of planning.

The device is a combination of Samsung Captivate and the PSP Go– in other words, it’s a landscape slider with game controls in place of the typical QWERTY keyboard. The D-pad is here, but instead of the small joystick, the device will have what was described as a “long touch pad” for analog controls, along with standard PSP buttons and shoulder buttons. The phone has a large display, described as being between 3.7 and 4.1 inches with WVGA or better resolution, a 5 megapixel camera that we’re told might not be final, and it’ll likely have a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU on board. The phone is mostly black with some silver highlights, and the gamepad area is white / silver in color.

The device will be running Android 3.0. That content will be initially accessible only by the halo device, but from the sounds of things, these titles might be made available to other Android phones if their specs and button layouts meet requirements. Games will be graphically in the range of PSX or PSP games, meaning true 3D gaming is headed to Android. Titles currently being shown off seem to be focused around some older PSX as well as new PSP offerings, withGod of War, Modern Warfare, and Little Big Planet possibly on tap, and future plans for titles which incorporate augmented reality features.

In terms of release, it’s possible that the phone and ecosystem could be introduced as early of October of this year, but we have yet to confirm.

A 12.2 megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom, a 2.7-inch LCD around back and a VGA (640 x 480) movie mode with 30fps and 15fps options, its the Camera with built in USB connector by Samsung. These days people dont want to have lot of things with their gadgets, thats what Samsung has done in its new Camera PL90, the PL90 have built in USB connector which pop out with just a click of a button, now you dont have to worry about the cable.

Samsung’s cameras are not competing with Panasonic’s or Canon’s cameras, but at $150 it’s a nice entry-cam. It’s got a 12.2MP image sensor, with 4x optical zoom and a 2.7″ LCD screen. What else you want in it.

How To Enable Your iPhone4 FaceTime Video Calling Over 3G After Jailbreaking

If you have iPhone 4, and its not jailbreaked, it has only the functionality of Facetime video calling over WiFi. But now you can enable it over 3G, it can be done by a Cydia app called My 3G which lets you run WiFi apps over 3G. FaceTime video quality appears to be unaffected, but from what we’ve seen the framerates suffer depending on your connection — pretty much what you’d expect to get when running a video stream optimized for high-bandwidth connections on a smaller pipe. Still, it’s instantly the best reason to jailbreak your phone.

So how you gona do that, just follow the simple steps and while you are doing it, you can also watch a video of Facetime calling over 3G.

1) Jailbreak your iPhone 4 via www.jailbreakme.com.
2) Download and upgrade to the latest Cydia package.
3) Open Cydia, Go to Manage then Sources.
4) Click Sources, Edit then add: http://apt.modmy.com
5) Search for “My3G” — download, and install it.
6) Go through the Rock setup process with a username and password. Open My3G and leave all settings on the default.
7) FaceTime should now work over 3G! — Make sure to “Forget” the WiFi network you are on (via iOS settings) if you want to test it.

Apple Remove All Death Grip Videos

Apple has removed all of the videos on its antenna performance page that showed various death gripson popular smartphones, including its own iPhone 4. If you go to apple.com/antenna, there’s only a section devoted to Apple’s $100 million design and test lab there.

Twitter Hits 20 Billion Tweets

The Most Popular micro-blogging Twitter has past 20 billionth tweet, a remarkable accomplishment for the young startup that reported 15 billion tweets only five months ago. In other words, in this five-month period the service has seen an average of 33 million tweets per day. Kudos for the 20th billionth tweet go to a Japanese graphic designer from Tokyo who tweeted on Saturday the following message:

So that means the barrage might come back later all at once.

Having realized his was the 20 billionth tweet, the designer reported receiving replies from people “all over the world.” The U.S. leads in the number of tweets sent, followed by Japan where 12 percent of all worldwide tweets originate, or about one in eight tweets.

Windows 7 Knockout Windows Vista in usage

Windows 7 was release in October 2009, and according to the research firm Net Applications, Windows 7 is passed over windows vista over usage. From the results of July 2010, Windows 7 knocked out the Windows Vista over usage share. But till now Windows XP is the most used and liked operating system.

In July, Windows 7 surpassed Windows Vista in global usage share. However, Windows XP is still the leading operating system by far, with double the share of Vista and 7 combined.

Note those findings are the result of an analysis of 40,000 sites that are part of Net Applications’ network and as such should be interpreted and taken with a pinch of salt. About 14.46 percent of online users who accessed sites in Net Applications’ network in July had Windows 7 installed versus 14.34 percent of Windows Vista users. Windows 7 and Vista combined are still no match for Windows XP which recorded a 61.87 percent usage share in July, despite losing 0.5 percentage points each month.

Official iPhone 4 Jailbreak

Developer Comex has just released the highly anticipated jailbreak for iPhone 4, allowing users of Apple’s latest iPhone, as well as iPad and iPod touch users running iOS 4 to jailbreak their device. The jailbreak is available now through a new website called JailbreakMe.com, specially set up for the new browser based jailbreak process. A full list of supported devices is posted below.

In order to jailbreak your iPhone 4, or iDevice of choice running iOS 4, you can navigate using the device’s browser to the following URL http://jailbreakme.com/

@comex notes, “If it hangs at a purple screen, it’s because the server fails”.

The servers will definitely be quite congested for a while, but you can tryhttp://jailbreakme.modmyi.com/_/ as an alternative if you can’t wait for the excitement to die down.

(2) losing MMS (but not for everyone)

Twitter Is Suggesting Now

Twitter is huge now, over a hundred million users means there’s going to be someone for everyone to follow and chat with. The problem is, because Twitter is so big it’s hard to identify all the people you may want to follow.

The Twitter team introduce a a solution to help you find Twitter accounts of interest. It’s called “Suggestions for You” and provides a list of Twitter accounts you may be interested in based on historical data.

The accounts recommended to you will be chosen depending on a number of factors including who you are already following, and who they follow, so it should provide some interesting new people to converse with you may of otherwise never known about.

Recommendations will appear on Twitter.com, in the Find People section, and when you visit another account’s profile page. You can also influence the recommendations presented by choosing to hide those that you aren’t interested in.

Android 2.2 Is Coming to Motorola Droid

Motorola Droid is getting the Android 2.2 in next week. Its good news for droid owners as Android 2.2 brings them lot of joys with it on their old gadget. So verizon users will get an update within next week.

YouTube Videos: Minimum Duration 15 Minutes Now

Today Google has announced an increase in the length of videos you can upload to YouTube. It was 10 minutes, now it’s 50% longer at 15 minutes.

Google is reacting to its number one requested feature for YouTube, which of course is the ability to upload longer videos.

To encourage longer videos using the full 15 minutes Google is asking us all to create “15 minutes of fame” videos. Here’s what they want you to do:

Imagine that this video is all the world will ever know about you: what would you want to communicate? What will be the enduring stamp you’ve left on us all? Tag your video with “yt15minutes,” upload it by Wednesday, August 4, and we’ll select a handful of people to truly gain their 15 minutes of fame by featuring them on the YouTube homepage in a future spotlight.

The increase in allowable length has been possible due to the success of the ContentID system Google uses to allow copyright holders to manage content. With a solid system in place longer videos can be handled, and Google sees no reason not to give us all the ability to upload more.

YouTube videos can already be extended to hours in length if necessary, but these are special cases where the content is educational or uploaded from a YouTube Partner. This latest extension of time will be for anyone and everyone with a YouTube account.
