You might be surprised to find out, for example, that only the Professional and Ultimate editions can back up to a network location—lame, for sure, but worth knowing before you plunk down your cash. Windows 7 Starter, the netbook-friendly version, can barely do anything by the other versions’ standards, and it’s definitely worth noting that Windows 7 Home Premium does not support Virtual XP Mode for running older programs in a maximum compatibility mode.
