How To Decompress A UIF Image

UIF ( Universal Image Format ) is an compression format for backing up CD/DVD. It is similar to an ISO image; however it is much faster, reliable and has much more set of features such as password protection, data encryption, checksum support etc. It also supports backing up of multi-session CD/DVD, Audio CD, VCD, SVCD and DVD-Video.

UIF files are supported on Windows, Mac and Linux all alike. To extract UIF files you would need MagicISO. MagicISO is a CD/DVD image file creating / editing / extracting tool. It can open / create / edit / extract CD/DVD image files, and it can convert bin to ISO and back.

You can download MagicISO from here. Mentioned below are the steps how to use MagicISO to extract UIF files.

1. Run MagicISO

2. Click Menu “Tools”->”Decompress CD/DVD image …”

3. Enter source UIF file name

4. Enter output file name.

Please ignore the file extension, MagicISO will automatically append the extension to the output file name.

5. Click “Decompress” button to start decompressing progress.

6. Before start to decompress UIF image, MagicISO will verify UIF image first. at this time, It will prompt you to enter password if this UIF image is encrypted. Just click “ok” after entering the password.

7. Now MagicISO decompress UIF image.
